Laser Dentistry

Lasers are safe and efficient for children and adults.  It also requires less, to no anesthesia.  We take every necessary precaution to make sure everyone is safe while using the laser, including protective eyewear.  A laser is an instrument that produces a very narrow, intense beam of light energy that may or may not be visible to the human eye. When laser light comes in contact with tissue it causes a reaction.

We use our laser most often to help us manage the soft tissue in our patients’ mouths.  We use it to help keep the gums out of the way while we are working, to re-contour gums that are growing in the wrong places or growing too big, and to help treat canker sores and cold sores.  The gums and other soft tissues heal quickly and with very little pain after using the laser.  In fact the tissue is often healthy after we are done than when we started.
